Proverbs 27:6

The wounds of a friend are trustworthy
But an enemy multiplies kisses. HCSB

Faithful are the wounds of a friend
profuse are the kisses of an enemy. ESV

Three ways to look at it:

1. Where there is high trust there is high freedom -Shawn Ammons
Meaning, There are some environments (with true friends) that are safer to act a certain way that might not be socially acceptable.

2. The wounds... like hurtful things said, done or hinted, bearing one another's burdens; things that are clearly out of our hands.  And these are the things that are trust worthy and or Faithful?
Maybe it is because the person receiving the wound is a friend that it is faithful.

3. Correction- Wounds might be shots to the flesh from our friend who actually cares enough about us and wants sin and death to be destroyed from our life that they take the effort to confront and point out what is wrong (wounds) so that we can be free from the slavery that sin brings.
Kisses seem all positive and proverbial but they might be referred to here as exactly what it is saying:
The kisses of an enemy are profuse (many).  Whatever that means, could be a tie in of the deceit of the enemy or the things you don't desire. Or rather a comparison with the first phrase.

The verse doesn't say The kisses of a friend are trustworthy or faithful.
And the Wounds of an enemy are much.
Even though it might sound quite better in our minds.

Out of all this, My desire is to stir up desire to dig deeper, search harder, seek God and look at things in different ways to see if I am missing something or... everything and ultimately find God (Real Satisfaction)
Real non-restlessness. Real! At-annoyance-peace.
But o you can find.
There is a time where over analyzing is over-analyzing, and I/we need to take the Words of God for what they are.

Do you know what you believe?
Go find out...
The words of God are POWERFULL.
